Beginning the little touches...

I've put two sessions of glazing in since I received my package from Blick.  As you can see the background needs some evening out in certain areas as the transitions are a bit too choppy at the moment (especially up close).  What I'm thinking of doing is bringing in a bit of randomness to add dimension and variety to the background; nothing too distracting but some darker value shapes to break up the sleekness of it.  There are also spots on the figure where I keep going back and forth on the value.  I guess I'll just have to feel that out as the piece gets closer to being finished.  I am really quite happy how the Earth is coming out though.  For the longest time it was looking really flat so I did a little research online and once I added the clouds at different levels of opacity it started turning for me (still needs some work but slowly getting there).  The areas where I've glazed are going to take a few days to dry to the touch so I think I'll begin a drawing to keep me busy until I go back into this.  Here is a shot of where it currently stands.  Thanks for checking in...
