Update on Progress...

I figured I should post an update before I get too far ahead.  I have been tweaking things here and there on the paintings for a while now and I must say I'm feeling really good about how they're turning out.  The background is another story alltogether.  I've had some trouble staying focused on the fabric because part of me thinks it blends too easily with the figure.  I may end up taking it out and painting a solid ground in its place.  Only time will tell but it's actually sort of fun to see how things are changing as I move further through the process.

Another reason I haven't finished more of the paintings is that I've been working a bit on the photography and drawings.  I don't want any aspect of the theme to feel thrown in or rushed so I'm making sure I devote enough time to everything.  I've taken some decent photographes so far and am planning another shoot for hopefully the end of the week.  I also tried my initial idea of drawing with charcoal on canvas but I wasn't very pleased with the result.  In fact I was pretty disappointed so I left it less than half done.  I think I'm going to switch to graphite on paper for the smooth quality I'm looking for.  In the meantime, here are a few images of the pieces in their current states.
