Underpainting finished
The underpainting is finally finished and now it's time to look at the details and bring everything together as a whole. The figure is looking pretty good at this point but there are lots of areas that stick out a bit much. While I do want a sense of light hitting the figure I don't want too much contrast to take away from the silent quality of the pose. I'll continue glazing until it feels right to me. As always, I'm debating whether or not to do something in the background or leave it simple. I'll probably keep it simple as I don't want anything to distract from the subject but only time will tell. The Earth also needs a lot of work but it only has the initial layers so it's hard to judge right now. All in all I'm feeling good about this one and look forward to the next few weeks of working on it.
