I finally felt ready to begin laying in some paint on this one. I started with a very thin layer of paint using flake white replacement, ivory black and raw umber. I'm working one area at a time because I've recently found that this method works better for me. These are only the first layers of paint so the figure should gain a lot more form as I get more into it.

After two more days of painting the figure is pretty much completly covered in paint. The next steps for the figure will be refining tonal values to build the forms and layering in glazes. Before that, I need to get moving on the background and foreground.
