Finished (pretty much...)

I finally feel ready to post an image of my work-in-progress.  As the title of this post suggests I consider it to be finished but with a few small areas that need tweaking.  I was hoping to have a little more time to work on it today but I was called in to work early so the areas I haven't gotten to will have to wait for another day.  I am very proud of this piece even though it fought me every step of the way.  I learned a lot about myself while working on this and I feel stronger for it - not nearly as strong as I used to be but much further than when I began this piece five months ago.  I have proven to myself that I am capable of pulling myself up after I've fallen and this painting will forever be a testament to that.

If you look closely along the left and right sides of the canvas you'll notice that I added a bit of free-verse in Latin.  The verse goes "excaecati a dolore i confugerem secundum incertitudinem de cras" which translates to "blinded by pain I seek refuge in the uncertainty of tomorrow."  Adding these letters certainly wasn't easy but I think it really brings some closure to the piece.  Thanks for taking a look and if you have any questions or comments feel free to leave them at the bottom of this post.

I have already stretched the canvas for the next piece which I will begin sketching out in a few days.
